First Pair of Jammies: Part One

Now that the weather is turning cold I am needing to sew myself some warm flannel pajamas. Here are the supplies for my first pair.

The solid colored flannel and the pattern were already living in my stash. The flannel with the pretty design was some that I picked up on Friday at the JoAnn's sale for $2 per yard. I had to swing back by JoAnn's yesterday to pick up the thread..

The pattern is multi-sized, from XS up to ginormous men's size. I don't want to cut it so I am attempting to trace my size out onto parchment paper. I do have more Swedish tracing paper but I don't want to waste it. I picked up a giant roll of parchment paper at Costco.

The parchment paper is thin enough to see the pattern marking through but it isn't wide enough for many of the pieces so I am having to patch it together. In the future I may choose to use the Swedish tracing paper for the wider pieces. This is the tedious part, tracing all the pieces. I hope to be able to cut out my fabric this afternoon.

I am dying to see your jammies when they are finished. That is something I am looking forward to making and have on my to-do list.

I hope they turn out OK. I figure pajamas are a safe clothing project since they aren't very fitted. I did shorten the pants by 2". We'll see if I guess-timated correctly.
